A Passion for Play and Lounge Culture
Play Batavix is the result of a vision shared by a group of enthusiasts who set out to create a place in Wollongong where intellectual challenge meets a refined lounge atmosphere.
Discover our storyOur Mission and Values
The mission of Play Batavix is to champion table games as a noble form of analytical competition, where skill and etiquette come first.
Our values are, above all, honesty, professionalism down to the smallest detail, and respect for the other player.
Origins
The idea took shape during the founders' travels through Europe's entertainment capitals. We saw that Wollongong lacked a place pairing café elegance with a serious gaming culture.
We settled on a heritage building at 148 Crown Street. Fitting out the interior took many months, with attention to every detail.
The Foundations of Batavix
Adults-Only Exclusivity
The decision to limit entry to guests aged 18 and over was crucial. We wanted a space where adults feel free and at ease.
Playing standards
At Play Batavix there's no room for half measures. From the cards to the dealing mechanics — everything meets professional requirements.
Local Role
We're proud to be part of Wollongong. Play Batavix is a meeting place for the city's sharp minds and entrepreneurs.
People and Space
Our team is made up of experienced croupiers, professional baristas and managers. Everyone goes through strict selection and training.
The interior pairs the rawness of the heritage building with the softness of velvet upholstery. The designer chose warm colours that invite you to linger.
